Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Joyce Margaret Stakes Toups, 73, who died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

She is survived by her former husband, Linwood Toups; two daughters, Peggy Toups Palombo and Michele Toups; two son-in-laws, Donald Bricker and Robert Keith Palombo; one grandson, Brodie Meaux; one granddaughter-in-law, Sonia Meaux; one great grandson, Aden Meaux; one sister, Lois Stakes Babineaux and one brother-in-law, Nolan Babineaux.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Stakes Sr.; her mother, Agnes Stakes David; one brother, Richard Stakes Jr. and one niece, Erika Stakes.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
