Barbara Ann Demarcay Gayneaux

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Barbara Ann DeMarcay Gayneaux, 74 years, who died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Iberia Medical Center with her family by her side. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

Pallbearers will be Ridley Gayneaux Jr, Tony Trahan, Zeek Gayneaux, Chancey Sagrera, Caleb Sagrera and Jacobi Balch. Honorary pallbearers will be Peter LeBlanc, Brock Stelly Jr and Danny Balch.


She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a seamstress all her life and her specialty was welding caps and sleeves. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


She is survived by four children, Tammy Balch and her husband Danny of New Iberia, Ridley "Joe" Gayneaux, Jr. and his wife Kat of Henry, Sue Trahan and her husband Tony of Forked Island, and Donielle "Nee" LeBlanc and her husband Pete of Abbeville; brother, Jimmy DeMarcay of Abbeville; brother-in-law, Daniel Gayneaux of New Orleans; eighteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ridley Gayneaux, Sr; father, Lloyd DeMarcay; mother, Loria DeMarcay; brother, Leroy DeMarcay; grandson-in-law, Brock "BJ" Stelly; and great granddaughter, Genisis.


The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of services. A rosary being prayed at 12:00 PM.


The family of Mrs. Gayneaux would like to give special thanks to Dr. Dauterive of Iberia Medical and his staff especially Kristin Broussard; her hairdresser, Sangel Stelly who loved with her; and Pam Landry for helping us through this tough time.
