Theresa G. Abshire

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 6, 2009 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Theresa G. Abshire, 81, who died Friday, September 4, 2009 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Reverend Randall Moreau officiating the services.

She is survived by three sons, Donald D. Abshire and his wife, Rowena of Cow Island, Lonnie G. Abshire and his wife, Danielle of Cow Island, and Todd J. Abshire and his wife, Diane of Cow Island; one stepdaughter, Romona A. Mouton of Abbeville; two sisters, Learline G. David of Cow Island and Cecile G. Laster of Bayou Vista; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery L. Abshire; two brothers, Melvin Gaspard and Lawerance Gaspard; one sister, Isabella G. Friou; and her parents, Marcial Gaspard and the former Enola Simon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 8 p.m.; Sunday, September 05, from 8 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
