Gueydan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Thomas Petry, 79, who died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta M. Petry of Gueydan; two sons, Thomas Petry, Jr. and his wife Tina of New Iberia and Craig Petry and his wife Dena of Gueydan; one daughter, Phyllis and her husband, John Zaunbrecher of Gueydan; one brother, J.C. Petry and his wife, Verda of Gueydan; seven grandchildren, Gil, Korie, Ross, Dustin, Lee, Kendra, and Emily; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Petry and the former Nellie Aube; and three brothers, Proford Petry, Leroy Petry, and Percy Petry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Friday, July 21, 2017 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
