Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Clifford John Meaux, 77, who died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Meaux, R.J. Meaux, Rusty Meaux, Brady Duhon, Bobby Duhon and Eldridge Foreman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Royal Hebert, Chester Guidry and Rodney Broussard.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred L. Meaux of Kaplan; one son, Randy Meaux of Kaplan; one daughter, Sharon M. Duhon of Kaplan; four grandchildren, Brady and Brandi Duhon of Maurice, Rusty Meaux of Abbeville and R.J. Meaux of Kaplan; three great grandchildren, Lainey Meaux of Kaplan, and Gabe and Leeland Thibodeaux of Gueydan; and three sisters, Velta Gaspard of Kaplan, Mary Gaspard of Gueydan and Zula Hebert of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Meaux and the former Edna Hebert; and one sister, Rexine Guilbeaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, October 1, from 8 a.m. until services.
