Leon "Catfish" Broussard

March 30, 1929 — October 21, 2009

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Leon F. Broussard, 80, who died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon Paul Roy Eleazar officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wyona V. Broussard of Kaplan; one son, Lenwood "Catfish" Broussard of Many; two daughters, Beatrice Touchet and Leona Broussard, both of Kaplan; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francois Broussard and the former Marie Chevalier; three brothers, Adeia, Augustan and Eteine Broussard; and two sisters, Bernice Doucet and Beulah Bufford.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. until services.
