Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2006 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Whitney J. Faulk, 94, who died June 8, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
He will be laid to rest in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Father Kevin Bordelon officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joey Griffin, Shawn Istre, John Anderson, Marcus Montet, Daniel Montet and Grant Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaron Hebert and Brennan Prejean.
Whitney was a farmer and a retired school bus driver for more than twenty-six years.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Eula Leblanc Faulk; two daughters, Nona Griffin and her husband, Dwyer J. Griffin, Jr. and Pat Istre and her husband, Michael Istre, all of Abbeville; grandchildren, Susan Montet and her husband, Ronnie, Karen Anderson and her husband, John, Joey Griffin and his wife, Lynette, Linda Griffin, Sandy Hebert and her husband, Scott, Shawn Istre and his fiancee’ Benita Vasseur. Melanie Istre and Trisha Switzer and her husband, Brad; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theonis and Euranie Faulk; one brother, Lawrence (Beb) Faulk; and one sister, Wilda Boudreaux.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 South Saint Charles Street, Abbeville, Friday, June 9th from 2:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 10th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
