Lou Jane "Pedue" Bishop

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Lou Jane Bishop, 80, who died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph "Herb" Bishop of Gueydan; three sons, Joe Bishop and his wife Traci of Ozark, Missouri, Pat Bishop and his wife Joanie of Baton Rouge, and Carl Bishop and his wife Peggy of Columbia; three daughters, Linda and her husband Dan Indest of Lafayette, Nona and her husband Bob Theriot of Gueydan, and Maureen and her husband Chad Vallo of Gueydan; one brother, Donald Broussard of Flordia; two sisters, Rose Marie Jolley of Lafayette and Lucy Bishop of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Abbie Mouton, Jamie Bozeman, Adrian, Christopher, Sean, Bryant, Taylor and Shiann Bishop, Amber and Joey McMurray, and Scott, Lance and Delaney Vallo; and six great grandchildren, Mya Vincent, Ronnie and Shelby Mouton, Lane Vallo, Gabriel Smith, and Reede Bozeman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlane Broussard and the former Lovenia Thibodeaux; one grandson, Matthew Theriot; and one sister, Winona Myers.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, December 02, from 10 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
