Hazel Dyson Desormeaux

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Hazel Dyson Desormeaux, 94, who died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be her three grandsons, Libby, Bill and Mitchell LeBlanc, Tony Morgan and her two grandsons-in-law, Jim Ward and Charlie Novak. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Newport, Mathew Suire, John Nunez, Rhett LeBlanc, Blake Morgan and Hayden Neveaux.

Hazel Desormeaux formerly Hazel Dyson was born on Cheniere Au Tigue in Vermilion Parish.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lois LeBlanc of Abbeville, Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Hebert of Abbeville and Judy Desormeaux of Palm Desert, CA; nine grandchildren Mrs. Jim (Angelique) Ward of Kingwood, TX, Mrs. Charles (Rachel) Novak of Atlanta, GA, Camille Boudreaux of League City, TX, Andrea Leah Hebert of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Eric (Margaret) Jerumanis of Glendale, CA, Libby John LeBlanc of Meaux, William "Bill" LeBlanc of Palm Desert, CA, Mitchell LeBlanc and his wife Freda Vidos of Abbeville and Mary Kay Morgan and her husband Tony Morgan of Abbeville; great grandchildren, Libby Jeanne LeBlanc, Aimie LeBlanc Turner, Katie Claire Morgan, Blake John Morgan, Madison Lennox, Rhett Baylor LeBlanc, Isadore Rose LeBlanc, Rachel Ward, Caroline Ward, Carter Detraz, Hayden Neveaux, Sebastian Leon Jerumanis and Sabrina Elaine Jerumanis; two great grandchildren, Layla Grace Boudreaux and D.J. Neveaux and her only surviving sister, Myrtis Thompson of Port Neches, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Octave Desormeaux; parents, Leah and Eraste Dyson; three brothers, Steve Dyson, Knox Dyson and Dudley Dyson; four sisters, Della Meaux, Mamie Boudreaux, Lillian Hodges and Irene Abshire and one grandson, Julian Boudreaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
