Mrs. Elie "Dot" Broussard

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, December 14, 2009 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Dorothy "Dot" Broussard, 87, who died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd G. Boullion, Slade Elie Boullion, Beth M. Broussard, Tony Romero, Daks Hebert and Glenn A. Suire. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Cheek, Rixby Marceaux Jr., Bobby Broussard, Harold Suire and Chris Suire.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Broussard and his wife Myra P. of Kaplan; one daughter, Brenda Broussard Boullion of Kaplan; two brothers, Newton "Bea" Suire of Kaplan and Luther G. Suire of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Todd G. Boullion and his wife Leslie of Kaplan, Kelli B. and her husband Tony Romero of Maurice, Beth M. Broussard of Kaplan and Kristi B. and her husband Daks Hebert of Kaplan; special family friend, Lynnette Broussard of Kaplan; and six great grandchildren, Mia, Slade and Whitney Boullion, Parker Romero, and Kailie and Jake Hebert; uncle, Andrew Guy Suire of Kaplan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elie "Black" Broussard Jr.; parents, Oscar Suire and the former Marie Schexnider; one son, Gerald J. Broussard; and eight brothers, Paul, Lecson, Willie, Wilton, Essie and Rixby Marceaux Sr. and Dalton and Hugh Suire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Monday, December 14, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
