Justin John Broussard, Sr.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.
Justin Broussard was born June 12, 1915. He graduated from Abbeville High, and then enrolled in Business Education at U.S.L.
In 1936 he began working in the insurance and real estate business.
In 1941 he married Ruth Broussard from Kaplan, Louisiana. They had three children, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Shortly after WWII began, he volunteered in the U.S. Coastguard and served in Galveston, TX.
After the war, he opened Justin’s Furniture Store.
Justin served as one of Abbeville’s City Councilmen in the sixties. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Rotary Club and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth B. Broussard of Abbeville; son, Eric Broussard and wife Pamela of Abbeville, daughter, Rebecca Trahan and husband Jabian "Jay" of Humble, TX.; five grandchildren, Kevin Trahan and wife Leah, David Trahan and wife Ellen, Leslie Theriot and husband Rene', Layne Johnson and husband Jonathan and Travis Broussard and wife Shannon; and ten great grandchildren, Bryan, Laken, Avery, Corey, Jacob, Kaylee, Alex, Anthony, Zachary and Alayna.
He was preceded in death by
son, Justin Broussard, Jr.; father, John Gladu "J.G." Brousard; mother, Hattie Sutton Broussard; sister, Beatrice "Bebe" McClellan; and three brothers, Roy, Lavelle and Warren "Slu" Broussard.
