Inez Bertrand

January 3, 1917 — January 4, 2010

Pecan Island—Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Pecan Island United Methodist Church honoring the life of Inez Bertrand, 93, who died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Pecan Island Community Cemetery with Reverend John Vining officiating the services.

She is survived by one daughter, JoAnne Ghirardi of Edwards, Mississippi; one stepdaughter, Donna Richard of Lake Charles; one son, John W. McNeill Jr. of Morris, Minnesota; one stepson, Norris Bertrand of Bridge City, Texas; two sisters, Beulah Lee of Kirbyville, Texas and Jeanelle Reasoner of Hackberry; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Caesar Prevost and the former Ezora Darbonne; her first husband, John Wiley McNeill; her second husband, John Wiley Bertrand; two sons, Daniel W. McNeill and an infant son; one sister; Ona Lee Johnson; and one brother, Julius Prevost.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pecan Island United Methodist Church, Highway 82 South, on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 9 a.m. until services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home (for the Southwest Methodist Children's Home Sulphur/Lake Charles), 901 South Vienna Street, Post Office Box 929, Ruston, LA 71273.
