Ernestine Menard Landry

August 27, 1913 — January 7, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Ernestine Menard Landry, 96, who died Thursday, January 7, 2010.

She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

"Mom-Mom" was a loving mother and devoted wife. She was most happy when she was working in her garden and with her family. She will be greatly missed, but the family feels comforted knowing that she and daddy are in their garden in paradise.

She is survived by her two daughters, Clara Dean Landry Viator of Lake Charles and Pat Landry Veazey of Baton Rouge; eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Able C. Landry; parents, Anthony Menard and the former Ophelia Broussard; two infant children, Florence and Catherine Landry; son, Gerald Landry; two daughters, Virgie L. Clements and Mary Ann L. Richard and two sisters, Lucy Suire and Eula LeBlanc.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m..
