Ethel Durke Vincent

January 13, 1922 — January 5, 2010

Abbeville-Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of Mrs. Ethel Durke Vincent, 87. Mrs. Durke died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at her residence in Abbeville.

She will be laid to rest in the Graceland Cemetery with Rev. John Vining officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ned Montet, Kent Montet, Tim Montet, Keith Spargis, Randy Rougeou and Robert Rugg. Honorary pallbearers will be George Frederick, Ray Comeaux, Troy Durke and Todd Granger.

Survivors include her
sisters, Beatrice Durke Frederick and her husband, George of Lafayette; Hazel Durke Broussard and her husband, Dudley of Abbeville; Ruby Durke Montet and her husband, Ned of Lafayette; two step-sons, Laxey Vincent, Sr. and Loison Vincent, Jr., both of Abbeville and a step-daughter, Dorothy Comeaux and her husband, Ray of Abbeville.

Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by her first husband, George Touchet, second husband, Loison Vincent, Sr., her parents, Ashby Durke and Viola Richardson Durke, a brother, Creighton Durke and a step-son, Clarence Vincent.

Mrs. Vincents family would like to thank her sitters, Lisa Abshire, Mildred Durke and Lisa Delahoussaye; her godchild, Carolyn LeBlanc; Rev. John Vining and the staff of St. Theresa Hospice.
