Azelie Abshire Lemaire

September 21, 1917 — January 12, 2010

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2010 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Azelie Abshire LeMaire, 92, who died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Reverend Randall Moreau officiating the services.

She is survived by one son, Arnold LeMaire and his wife, Wanelle of Kaplan; three daughters, Sue Broussard and her husband James of Kaplan, Lorraine Broussard and her husband Harvey of Forked Island and Edna Guidry and her husband Ronald of Cow Island; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Euell LeMaire; son, Anthony LeMaire; grandson, Giles LeMaire; parents, Alexander Abshire and Mercedes Guidry; three brothers, Hypolite, Adam and Avery Abshire; and one sister, Edna Abshire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, January 14, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. when the procession departs for the church.
