Joseph Dalton Hebert

August 10, 1923 — January 13, 2010

Abbeville-Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Joseph Dalton Hebert, Sr., 86, who died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Brady Touchet, Quinton Hebert, Rusty Suire, Cody Hebert, Jace Richard, Jacob LeBouef and Ron Lege. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Hebert, Corey Touchet, Scotty Touchet, Bryce LeBouef and Buddy Richard.

Dalton loved gardening and showing everyone how beautiful his garden grew.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph Dalton Hebert, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Erath, Frank Hebert and wife Cindy of Erath and Albert Hebert and wife Charlene of Abbeville; three daughters, Patsy Touchet and husband Earl of Abbeville, Gloria Richard and husband Glenn of Erath and Phyllis LeBouef of Abbeville; four sisters, Rose Hebert of Youngsville, Edith Granger of Erath, Theresa Suire of Erath and Annie Lou Friou of Delcambre; and twenty-five grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lily Mae Luquette Hebert; parents, Clemay Hebert and the former Adonia Hebert; daughter, Theresa Suire; and two brothers, Floyd Hebert, Sr. and Preston Doyce Hebert.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, January 15, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
