Mary Agnes Frederick Stakes

March 20, 1912 — January 13, 2010

Abbevuille-Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Mary Agnes Frederick Stakes, 97, who died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Eastridge Nursing Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Kearney Stakes, Larry Stakes, Kearney Stakes, II, Shea Stakes, Alan Stakes and Kyle Stakes. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Stakes.

Agnes was a former member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by her two sons, Kearney James Stakes and wife Suzanne of Abbeville and George Larry Stakes and wife Janice of Abbeville; two brothers, Norris Frederick of Kaplan and Luce Frederick, Jr. of Abbeville; two sisters, Lucille Hebert of Lafayette and Leola Ledet of Abbeville; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Stakes; parents, Luce Frederick, Sr. and the former Mary Madeline Landry and six brothers, Issac Frederick, Minos Frederick, Dalton Frederick, Dallas Frederick, Royce Frederick and Francis Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, January 15, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
