Electa Broussard Parquette

She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Rev. Chester Arceneaux and Rev. Kenneth Mayne officiating the services and assisting clergy will be her godchild, Deacon Leonard Broussard of Katy, TX. Pallbearers will be Brian Parquette, Greg Parquette, Christopher DeRise, Jonathan DeRise, Neil Clark and Robert Bobby DeRise. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Clark, Tyler Parquette, Trevor Parquette, Thomas DeRise, Cullin DeRise Chevalon and Brycen Luquette.
Electa was a hairdresser for over 50 years. She was a charter member of the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church Ladies Altar Society, 3rd Order of Mt. Carmel, Catholic Daughters at St. Mary Magdalen Church.
She is survived by her son, Earl J. Parquette of Abbeville; grandchildren, Annette P. DeRise of New Iberia, Brian Parquette and wife Cheryl of Diamond Bar, CA and Gregory Parquette and wife Celeste of Diamond Bar, CA; great grandchildren, Christopher DeRise, Jonathan DeRise. Desire' DeRise, Monique Parquette, Tyler Parquette, Trevor Parquette and McKenna Parquette; great great granchildren, Thomas DeRise, Emma DeRise, Cullin DeRise Chevalon, Brycen Luquette; sister, Lydie "Dee" Butler; brother, Lawrence Broussard; sister-in-law, Hazel "Mrs. Red" Broussard; daughter-in-law, Rita D. Parquette LaSource and son-in-law, Robert "Bobby" DeRise of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Parquette and parents, Ulger Broussard and the former Theresa Domingues; and several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Heritage Manor, LTAC Unit in Abbeville General Hospital, Abbeville Council of Aging, IBC of Youngsville, Acadian Home Health and Dr. Ronald Lahasky and staff. The family will always remember Vicky and Patrick Naquin, Selena Mayeaux Vigneaux and Shirley Picard LaCour for their loving care and help shown to Mrs. Parquette.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
