Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Vincent Funeral Home -Kaplan honoring the life of Myrtle Cormier, 89, who died Friday, January 22, 2010 at Camelot Place. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dewey Cormier of Kaplan; three daughters, Beverly and her husband, Joseph "Bud" Ardoin of Lafayette, Sylvia C. and her husband, Etienne O. Hardy of Kaplan, and Helen C. and her husband, Darvey Dupuis of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Laurie Belanger of Jennings, Paul Ardoin and his wife, Janet of Lafayette, Rachel and her husband, John Viola of Scott, Chuck Gaspard of Abbeville, and Robby Gaspard and his wife, Lisa of Abbeville; two step-grandchildren, Michael Hardy and his wife, Terry of Tennessee, and Cheryl H. and her husband, Jason Newman of Ohio; seven great grandchildren, Danielle Breaux, Gretchen Gaspard, Callie Gaspard, Victoria Viola, Jacob Ardoin, Julia Ardoin and Gabriel Gaspard; and seven step-great grandchildren, Tyler Hardy, Trey Hardy, Logan Luquette, Garrett Luquette, Lance Newman, Drake Jaubert and Brailey Jaubert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Colomb and the former Norma Faulk; and one sister, Maudrey C. Faulk.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Saturday, January 23 from 8 a.m. until services.
