Lola Bernard Dartez
May 3, 1919 — July 10, 2006
She will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Josiph Breaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Damian Dartez, Duane Dartez, Darrin Dartez, Scott Dartez, Kevin Guarino, Cade Methvin and Lucien Lalande.
A woman of devout faith and devotion to her family, she instilled in all of her family members the importance of faith in God, family unity, and education. As a most giving person, she always placed others needs before her own and always found the goodness in people.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Dartez and his wife Rosemary of Abbeville and Cordell Dartez and his wife Linda of Maurice; two daughters, Deanna Guarino and her husband Marion of Abbeville and Judy Lalande and her husband Tommy of Maurice; son-in-law, Ronnie Methvin of Maurice and his fiancée Joan Dent; one sister, Lilly Mae Langlinais of Lafayette; grandchildren, Damian Dartez, Duane Dartez, Deidre Arceneaux, Darrin Dartez, Kevin Guarino, Michelle G. Bourque, Scott Dartez, Kimberly Thibodeaux, Ian Methvin, Cade Methvin, Haley Simoneaux, Sascha Phillips, Kindra Lalande and Lucien Lalande; and twenty-three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney Dartez; one daughter, Melinda Methvin; father, Galvey Bernard; mother, Rosa Landry Bernard; and brothers, T.J. Bernard and Francis “T-Tan” Bernard.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Abbeville General Hospital for the kind care extended to their mother during her hospital stay.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Tuesday, July 11, 2006 from 4:00p.m. until 10:00p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00p.m.; Wednesday, July 12th from 8:00a.m. until service time.
