He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Rev. Lane Payne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Cody Fontenot, Justin Fontenot, Mitch Perry, Mark Primeaux, Troy Fontenot, Lloyd Fontenot and Scott Fontenot.
Robert was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a avid fan of NASCAR and of the New Orleans Saints football. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed his job.
He is survived by his sons, Troy Fontenot and wife Michelle of Delcambre, Lloyd Fontenot and wife Jill of Delcambre and Scott Fontenot of Delcambre; daughter, Nichole Primeaux and husband Mark of Erath; siblings, Earl Fontenot and wife Cheryl of Delcambre, Dale Biscardi and Wanda Newman; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias Fontenot and the former Angelle Cuntz; brother, Lloyd Fontenot and sister, Rosealine Green.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
