Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Robert Taylor Daspit, 71, who died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen L. Daspit of Kaplan; four sons, Joey Miller Sr. of Kaplan, Daniel Miller of Monroe, Oklahoma, Randy Miller Sr. of Kaplan and Dale Miller, also of Kaplan; three daughters, Elizabeth Daspit of Rayne, Michelle Gary of Kaplan and Channtina Touchet of Church Point; two brothers, James Daspit Jr. and Albert Benjiman Daspit, both of Lafayette; two sisters, June Daspit and Marcell Daspit, both of Lafayette; twenty-two grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Daspit Sr. and the former Fern Loretta Arceneaux; and two brothers, Raymond and Richard Daspit.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.; Thursday, January 28, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
