Marie "Shine" Dartez

March 15, 1923 — January 29, 2010

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Marie Lege Dartez, 86, who died Friday, January 29, 2010 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

She is survived by one son, Edward Dartez and his wife, Alva of Kaplan; two daughters, Anna Guidry and her husband, Jeb and Betty Girouard and her husband, Boyd, all of Kaplan; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walton "Peroo" Dartez; her parents, Alexis Lege and the former Olivia Corner; and two sisters, Mildred LeMaire and Ernestine DeVille.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.; Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 8 a.m. until services.
