Laura "Ruby" Suire Harrington

August 25, 1922 — February 7, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Laura Belle Suire Harrington, 87, who died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia H. Edwards of New Orleans; son, Chris Harrington of Abbeville; sister, Anne S. Yasich of Fort Lauderdale, FL.; two brothers, Norris "Jack" Suire of Zachary, LA and Paul Odey Suire of Abbeville; six grandchildren, Teddy J. Harrington, Jr. and wife Kim of San Jose, CA, Peter J. Harrington and wife Lisa of Oklahoma City, OK, Emily E. Holm and husband Ted of Birmingham, AL, Laura M. Edwards of Atlanta, GA, Kathryn L. Edwards of New Orleans, Katie Vanhaverbeke of New Iberia and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Harrington; father, Alphe Suire; mother, Eleore Trahan Suire; son, Teddy J. Harrington; and siblings, Henry "Red" Suire, Sabrey "Doc" Suire and Inez Suire Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Harrington’s family would like to extend special thanks to Effie Hernandez, Tina Broussard and Michelle Broussard for the love and kindness extended to their mother and grandmother Ruby over the years.
