Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Jessie Vidrine Sr., 96, who died Friday, March 12, 2010 at Heritage Manor of Abbeville. He will be laid to rest at St. David Chapel Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Suire Vidrine of Abbeville; one daughter, Mary Ann and her husband, Lurcey Broussard of Kaplan; two daughters-in-law, Renola Vidrine of Forked Island and Gloria Vidrine of Kaplan; two stepsons, Eugene Lormand and Arthur Lormand and his wife, Beverly, all of Abbeville; two stepdaughters, Marilyn and her husband, Raymond Hargrave and Martha and her husband, Dallas Dubois, all of Abbeville; one sister, Alice Guillory of Iowa, LA; six grandchildren, Donna Broussard and her companion, Ray, Larry Broussard and his wife, Cheryl, Wayne Vidrine and his companion, Mary Ann, Maylinda and her husband, Ricky Breaux, Lonnie Vidrine and his wife, Carol, and Sandra and her husband, Danny Landry; fourteen step-grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; seventeen step- great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Inza LeBouef Vidrine; two sons, Paul Ellis Vidrine and Jessie Vidrine Jr.; four brothers, Cyle, Joseph, Ernest and Leroy Vidrine; and four sisters, Cora Mounier, Alia Vidrine, Anna Mae Fontenot and Almenia Ortego.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, March 16, from 8 a.m. until services.
