Faye Bertrand

December 16, 1934 — March 21, 2010

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Esther Faye Smith Bertrand, 75, who died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at American Legion Hospital.
She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Drew and Brandon Bertrand, Scottie Lemaire, Derek Lemaire, Andrew Primeaux and Rod Stelly.

She is survived by one son, Chad Bertrand and his wife, Katy of Gueydan; two daughters, Mona and her husband, David Simon of Gueydan and Brenda Bertrand of Lyons Point; two sisters, Christine Alexander of Vernal, Utah and Lillian Towery of Fayetteville, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Drew, Brandon, Chelsea and Luke Bertrand of Gueydan, Chandra and her husband, Blake LeBeouf of Kaplan, Scottie Simon of Maurice, Amy and her husband, Scott Giffin of Lafayette, Valerie and her husband, Jonathon Deshotels of Abbeville and Sadie Simon, Shawn Lacoste and Lacey Meaux, all of Lafayette; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neelis Bertrand; her son, Gregory Bertrand; and her grandson, Joe Simon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Monday, March 22, 2010 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.; Tuesday, March 23, from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.; Wednesday, March 24, from 8 a.m. until services.
