Genevia A. Broussard

January 24, 1939 — March 27, 2010

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Genevia Abshire Broussard, 71, who died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

She is survived by one son, Jason Broussard and his wife, Dana of Kaplan; three daughters, Shera LaPoint and her husband, Paul of Bunkie, Linda Lee Steaples and her husband, Robert of Santa Fe, Texas and Vonda B. Doucet and her husband, Rickie of Kaplan; one brother, Norris Abshire and his wife, Cynthia of Kaplan; twelve grandchildren, Brad, Blake, Drew and Carly LaPoint, Armon Dehkordi, Allen, Kyle and Koby Steaples, Nikita and Chad Doucet and Laine and Kamron Broussard; and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonis Abshire and the former Annie Mae Dartez.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.; Monday, March 29, from 8 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
