He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Lane Payne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Randall Bertrand, Dwayne Bertrand, Mark Bertrand, Junuse Duplantis, Troy Primeaux and Troy Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Marsh and Roger Marsh, II.
Robert Marsh was a devout man of God with unwavering faith whose family was his pride and joy. He was a wonderful daddy and excellent provider always looking for his next project. Robert's main passions throughout his life included cooking, gardening, carpentry, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Jacob Lee Marsh and his wife, Jenet of Kaplan; two daughters, Ashlee Jeanette Marsh of Lafayette and Mallory Paige Marsh of Natchitoches; grandson, Carter Alexander-Lee Marsh; one brother, Roger Lee Marsh, Jr. of Kaplan; and four sisters, Cynthia Lee Marsh of Kaplan, Kathy Lee Marsh Comeaux of Kaplan, Terri Lee Marsh of Youngsville and Joanie Lee Marsh Melancon of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Lee Marsh, Sr.; mother, Katherine Joan Marsh; and nephew, Jarod Lee White.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from noon until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at New Life Church - Abbeville, 1109 N. John Hardy Dr., from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
The family wishes to send a very special thank you to the nursing staff at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette as well as the Heart of Hospice for the loving care provided to Robert during his hospital stay. The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and support throughout this difficult time.
