Harris F. Vallo

October 3, 1935 — March 29, 2010

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at a 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Harris F. Vallo, 74, who died Monday, March 29, 2010 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnathon Hebert, Sleighton Hebert, Harris Steven Hebert, Scott Vallo, Lance Vallo and Charley Landon Vallo. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Rabalais, Jeremy Rabalais, Bryce Baudoin, Rhett Myers, Zane McDonough and Robert Vallo.

He is survived by his wife of six months, Charlotte Vallo of Gueydan; six sons, Chad Vallo and his wife, Maureen of Gueydan, Charley Vallo and his wife, Kassia of Lafayette, Patrick Vallo and his wife, Jennifer, of Scott, Keith Rabalais and his wife, Donna of Crowley, Eddie Rabalais and his wife, Robyn of Jennings and Wade Rabalais of Mississippi; four daughters, Roslyn Vallo of Gueydan, Melissa and her husband, Ricky Hargrave of Gueydan, Mary and her husband, Joe Baudoin of Kaplan and Nicole and her husband, Kevin Biddy of Livonia; one sister, Leona Collard of Jennings; twenty-seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and his special friend, his dog, Andy Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Vallo and the former Eunice Vincent; one brother, Burney Vallo; and two sisters, Wanda Reese and Gertie Lopez.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, March 31, from 8 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
