Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Lelia Trahan Richard, 91, who died Monday, April 5, 2010 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon Paul Roy Eleazar officiating the services.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann and her husband, Wayne Touchet of Kaplan and Lona Broussard of Kaplan; six grandchildren, Triscia Touchet of Kaplan, Lance Touchet and his wife, Tosha of Kaplan, Kimberly Touchet of Kaplan, Rod Broussard and his wife, Yvette of Youngsville, Marrissia and her husband, Buddy Guidry of Kaplan and Wesley Meaux of Abbeville; eight great grandchildren, Laranda Schexnyder, Colbert Guidry, Ava Touchet, Alanna Touchet, Mason Touchet, Drake Meaux, Jardin Meaux and Keisha Merideth; and one great-great grandchild, Laken Schexnyder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oday Richard; one brother, Senua Trahan; and her parents, Dolze Trahan and Helen Simon Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, April 7, from 8 a.m. until services.
