Verna Marie Loignon Prejean

April 22, 1933 — April 9, 2010

Abbeville— A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery honoring the life of Verna Marie Prejean, 76, who died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

Verna loved caring for her roommate at Maison Du Monde, where she reigned as Mardi Gras queen.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Prejean Domingue and husband Donald of Maurice and Connie Prejean Van BeBer and husband Marion of Dallas; grandchildren, Jerrod Arabie of Meaux and Eric Arabie of Chula Vista, CA; brother, Curtis Loignon of Abbeville; sister, Emma Lee Vidallia of Erath.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Prejean; father, Numa Loignon; mother, Laura Goutierrez; a son, Thomas G. Prejean; two sisters, Lena Mae Guilbeau and Thelma Olivia; and three brothers, Clarence, Lawrence and Vernick Loignon.
