Harry Lee Logan

November 23, 1918 — April 29, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Harry Lee Logan, 91, who died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.. Lectors will be Jessica Deeds, Heejung Kim and Renee' Webb. Pallbearers will be James Deeds, Joel Webb, Aaron Webb, Jared Tessier, Derek Logan and Patrick Logan. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry and Donald Logan. Music will be provided by his niece, Bonnie Logan.

Mr. Logan was reared in Lafayette and graduated from Lafayette High School. He served in World War II in the South Pacific. He retired from Billups Petroleum in 1983. He was a loyal and dedicated husband, father of five children, grandfather of nine grandchildren and great grandfather of three. His fourth great grandchild is expected in June.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia Logan, Susan Logan Deeds and her husband James Deeds, Jerry Logan and his wife Julie, Catherine Logan and Donald Logan and his wife Lisa; eight grandchildren Renee' Webb, Joel Webb, Aaron Webb, Jared Tessier, Rachel Logan Hayden and her husband Major, Derek Logan, Patrick Logan and Jessica Deeds; three great grandchildren, Emma Grace Webb, Caleb Alexander Webb and Logan Michael Webb.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ethel Matthews Logan; grandchildren, Joshua Paul Logan and Phillip Jude Tessier; parents, Jeremiah O. Logan and Gladys Wert Logan; brothers, Jeremiah Logan, Jerry "Bill" Logan, Larry Logan and Lucien Logan; his sisters, Jesse Logan Montleon, Hazel Logan Arceaneaux, Helen Logan Cooper and Jo Ann Logan; and nephews, Timothy McAvoy Logan and Lee Christopher Noel.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mount Carmel Elementary School, Vermilion Catholic High School or St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church.
