Newton Francis Gaspard

September 25, 1932 — May 17, 2010

Abbeville, Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Newton Francis Gaspard, 77, who died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Ochsner Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Brad Guillory officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife Sarah Ann Davidson Gaspard of Abbeville; five sons, Robert Gaspard of California, James Gaspard of Abbeville, Thomas Gaspard of Abbeville, Jeffry Gaspard of New Orleans and Edward Gaspard of Abbeville, a daughter, Deborah Gaspard of Abbeville; three brothers, Harold Gaspard of New Orleans, Gerald Gaspard of Abbeville and Robert Johnny Gaspard of Abbeville; three sisters, Lois Sellers of Abbeville, Louella Gaspard of Beaumont and Janet Walker of Houma; nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Gaspard served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Navy Seabees.
