Lorita St. Amant Morvant

May 18, 1921 — May 19, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, May 24, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Lorita St. Amant Morvant, 89, who died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Walnut Grove Nursing Home in McAlester, OK.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

She is survived by her four sons, Joseph P. Morvant of Broussard, John Paul Morvant of Abbeville, J.C. Lawrence Morvant, Sr. of Sioux Falls, SD, and Numa Morvant, Jr. of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Grace Bergman of Channelview, TX, and Pearl Pellerin of Franklin; two sisters, Louise Sonnier of Jeanerette, and Edith Dubois of Abbeville; twenty-eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Numa Morvant, Sr.; a son Jean "L.J." Morvant; parents, Louis and Alice LeBlanc St.Amant; and numerous grandchildren.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.. The family will reopen on Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
