Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Delora Lormand Hanks, 74, who died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at American Legion Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
She is survived by her three sons, Erwin Guidry and his wife, Janice of Mamou, Wade Guidry of Malaysia and Aaron Guidry and his wife, Anna of Lake Charles; one daughter, Donna Trahan of Kaplan; one brother, Jerome Lormand of Lafayette; two sisters, Leatrice Vincent of Kaplan and Sybile Romero of New Iberia; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Hanks Jr.; her parents, Emar Lormand and the former Emelie Richard; and her brother, John Farrel Lormand.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, May 25, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
