Alton Joseph Choate

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 06, 2006 at an 11 :00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church honoring the life of Alton Joseph Choate, 69, who died October 04, 2006 at his residence. He will be laid to rest in Esther- Community Cemetery with Reverend Mathew Mullamangalam officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Charles Choate, Steve Choate, Joey Choate, Bennett Choate, Boyd Choate and Gavin Choate. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Sagrera Choate of Abbeville; three sons, Steve Choate and his wife Melanie of Lafayette, Charles Choate and his wife Yvette of Youngsville and Joey Choate and his wife Marietta of Forked Island; two daughters,' Tamera Choate of Erath and Denise Choate of Abbeville; three step children, John Broussard of Columbus, Ohio, Adam Broussard of Abbeville and Michele McNeil of Abbeville; grandchildren, Gavin Choate, Lindsey Choate and Lauren Choate all of Lafayette, Bennett Choate and Boyd Choate of Abbeville, Tisha Choate, Tori Choate, Taylor Choate and Trey Choate of Forked Island, Shayna Robicheau of Youngsville, Jamie Rouchon of Maine, and Kasey Thomas and Callynn Thomas of Erath; step grandchildren, Mac McNeil, Zachary McNeil and Isaac McNeil; and one sister, Ella Mae Mayers and her husband Bobby of Abbeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Milton Choate and the former Lydia Corner; and his first wife, Faye Broussard Choate. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Thursday, October 5th from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, October 6th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
