She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Hampton Davis officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Alfred J. Thomas, III, Blaine A. Thomas, Coby Thomas, Jerry Besson, Spencer Besson, Alfred J. Thomas, IV, Braden G. Thomas.
She is survived by her sons, Alfred J. Thomas, II and his wife, Janell B. of Lafayette and Carroll F. Thomas and his wife, Marilyn H. of Abbeville; grandchildren, Alfred J. Thomas, III, Natalie Ann Thomas, Blaine A. Thomas, Kristie T. Besson, Carroll F. Thomas, II and Coby Thomas; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Kirkpatrick of Lake Charles and Alyene Matt of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ignace and Octavie Bergeron Frederick; husband, Alfred J. Thomas, six sisters, Irene Martina, Aline Romero, Ruth Mouton, Ruby Sagrera, Alberna Frederick and Leola "Singsie" Dubois; and four brothers, Ferdinand "Piggy" Frederick, Fray Frederick, Warren Frederick and Ignace Frederick, Jr.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Ladies Alter Society.
Gift bearers will be Alexa Thomas, Olivia Besson, Zoe Thomas and Gracie Thomas. Readers will be Jessica Thomas and Alfred J. Thomas,III. Musical selections will be performed by Gregory and Christine Dubois, violinist, Beau Thomas and organist, Tommy Guidry. Altar server will be Grant Thomas. The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Lahasky for his dedicated care of Mrs. Thomas. Thank you also to Carol Dubois, Lilly Faulk, Millie Guidry and the nursing staff at Abbeville General Hospital for their special help and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Mt. Carmel Elementary or the Anne Marie Bertrand Scholarship Fund at Vermilion Catholic High School.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, June 18, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until time of services.
