Paulenar Lege

July 23, 1921 — June 16, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Paulenar Lege, 88, who died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Brad Guillory officiating the services.

Mr. Lege was a veteran WWII having served in the U.S. Army from 1942 ~ 1946.
Formerly of Esther, Paulenar was a man of many professions, having been a farmer, Pipeline worker and also in Oilfield Construction.


He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruby Breaux Lege; two sons, Max Lege and his wife, Debbie of Jackson, LA and Kenney Lege and his wife, Ann of Abbeville; two daughters, Sue Lege of Abbeville and Ludie L. DeVoltz and her husband, Jimmy of Abbeville; twelve grandchildren, Jaron, Britt, Chelsea, Sean, Courtney, Claire, Laura, Katie, Crissi, Jay, Samantha, and Kim; ten great grandchildren, Caleb, Brycin, Bayne, Lylah, Luke, Layla, Hunter, Grant, Colby and Gage; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maximin Lege and the former Elisa Gaspard; and siblings, Elie Lege, Boniface Lege, Pierre Lege, Whitney Lege, Ezita L. Gaspard, Odile L. Lee, Marie Lege and Mary Alice L. Prejean.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Lege’s family would like to offer a special thanks to his nurse Julia Thibodeaux of Hospice of Acadiana and Bea Stelly of Young Eye clinic.
