Robert Henry Smith

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
Mr. Smith retired with Vermilion Parish School Board. He had many hobbies including being an amateur ham radio operator, working with his computer, and building and flying radio operated airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hortense LeBlanc Smith of Abbeville; a son, Richard H. Smith and wife Mary of Nunez; four daughters, Martha Nell Smith of Albuquerque, NM, Jackie Langlinais and husband Glenn of Abbeville, Roberta Tribe and husband Earl J. of Abbeville and Lisa Smith of Kaplan; eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Smith; mother, Helen Moore Smith; grandson, Damon J. Babin; four sisters and two brothers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The family will reopen on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
