Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2006 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church honoring the life of Galbert Trahan, 84, who died October 10, 2006 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
Galbert was a veteran of the United States Army who served our country during World War II and the Korean War. He was a former P.O.W. and the recipient of a Purple Heart medal. He was a retired truck driver with Service Trucking Company. He was a former waiter and bartender at Moore's Restaurant.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lula Mae Primeaux Trahan of, Abbeville; one son, James Lee Trahan and his wife Karen of Sea Grove, Florida; one step daughter, Deanna Romero Boudreaux and her husband Hayes of Lafayette; grandchildren, Kimberly Boudreaux Paul and her husband Donald of Lafayette, Elizabeth Boudreaux Touchette and her husband Scotty of Carencro; and great grandchildren, Don Chris of Lafayette, Grace Paul of Lafayette, Dylan Touchette of Carencro and Logan Touchette .. of Carencro;
He was preceded in death by his father, Lucian Trahan; mother, Melane Trahan; and one brother, Ophe Trahan.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, October 11th from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, October 12th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
