Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Vincent Funeral Home -Kaplan honoring the life of Doris Jean Walker, 57, who died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Harrington Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, James "Peanut" Walker of Kaplan; one son, Danny Townsend and his wife, Natasha of New Iberia; one stepson, Jason Walker and his wifeKathrynne of Lafayette; one daughter, Misty Holland of Resaca, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Nicole and her husband, Kendall Hines of Forked Island; two brothers, Glenna Small of Canton, Ohio and Roland Rankin of Chatsworth, Georgia; one sister, Debbie Lawson and her fiancé, Mike Way of Clarksville, Tennessee; and fourteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Lawson; and one sister, Katherine Lawson.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.; Saturday, July 10, from 8 a.m. until services.
