Bertha Vincent Luquette

February 17, 1921 — August 21, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Bertha Vincent Luquette, 89, who died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Brad Guillory officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Neal Broussard, Corey Broussard, Kern Broussard, Blake Broussard, Jubal Marceaux and Jake Luquette.

Bertha was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a retired hairdresser, a member of the Lay Carmalites and the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Luquette; one daughter, Dolores Broussard and husband Kenneth of Meaux; one son, Robert Luquette and wife Carlene of Kaplan; one brother, Warren Vincent and wife Judy of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Neal Broussard, Alison Marceaux, Corey Broussard, Kern Broussard, Blake Broussard, Kayla Luquette and Jake Luquette; and seven great grandchildren, McKenzie Marceaux, Christa Broussard, Lindsay Marceaux, Hannah Broussard, Noah Broussard, Rynn Marceaux and Krysten Luquette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ena Frederick Vincent.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
