Pierre "Blanc" Simon

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Pierre Sauel Simon, 83, who died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Grace Gaspard Simon of Forked Island; one son, Carl Lynn Simon and his wife, Cindy of Youngsville; four daughters, Brenda and her husband, Kirby Detraz of DeBary,Florida, Betty and her husband, Lenwood "Lane" Schexnider of Lafayette, Judy and her husband, P.J. "Preston" Broussard of Forked Island and Willie and her husband, Davis Frederick of Forked Island; one brother, Leroy Simon and his wife, Eula Mae of Forked Island; two sisters, Beverly and her husband, Rayvis Trahan of Houson,Texas and Else Romero of Kaplan; as well as, twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cestia and Agnes Simon; his brother, Raoul Simon; two sisters, Viola Duhon and Enola Simon; and one grandson, Blake Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, September 17, from 8:00 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
