Minus Pierre Ledet

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Music will be provided by Rafael Henry and Steven Landry of Lafayette. A full military burial will follow immediately at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery.
Mr. Ledet was born in Abbeville on December 15, 1922 to Ulysse and Louise Ledet. He attended Abbeville High School until he joined the US Navy in 1940. He served six years in the Navy and joined the Army in 1949. Mr. Ledet served his country abroad and in the states for 27 years and retired to his hometown of Abbeville. There, he became a life member of American Legion Post 29 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4158. He was
also a member of The Military Order of the Cooties.
Mr. Ledet is survived by his wife of 15 years, Leola F. Ledet. He is also survived by three sons: Jean P. Ledet and his wife Lorri of Pensacola, FL, M. Brian Ledet of Tucson, AZ and Kevin Ledet and his wife Marcia of
Greenwich, OH, and two daughters: Shana Ledet Qualls of Maurice and Ulyssa Ledet of Abbeville. Two step-children, Madeline Manck and Rodney Meaux of Broussard, also survive Mr. Ledet. 18 loving grandchildren will mourn the loss of Mr. Ledet. He will also be forever missed by 25 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ledet was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, two children, Loren and Evona Ledet, one grandchild, Scott Trahan, and his wife of 52 years, Marie Curtis Ledet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from noon until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m.; Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

Acadiana, Acadiana Home Health, and Mr. Ledet's devoted sitters.
