Velma Hebert Duhon

April 12, 1927 — September 14, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church honoring the life of Velma Hebert Duhon, 83, who died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Rev. Charles Langlois officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Corbet K. East, Ross Dooley, Beau Dooley, David Langlinais, Tilford Langlinais, Justin Langlinais and Benson Langlinais.

Velma was a former resident of Jeanerette for over 40 years. She was a licensed beautician for over 24 years.

She is survived by two sons, Waldon Duhon of Erath and Joey Duhon and his wife Terri of Bryan, TX; one daughter, Loretta Dooley and her husband Vernon of Erath; grandchildren, Leah Weimer and her husband Eric, Ross Dooley and his wife Tisha, Beau Dooley, Brittni Duhon, Emmeline Duhon, Clare Duhon and Thomas Duhon; great grandchildren, Anden Weimer, Ian Weimer, Ethan Weimer, Celia Dooley and Kate Dooley; and five sisters, Gloriadean Langlinais and her husband Norvin of Erath, Jacki Broussard and her husband Paul Ed of Erath, Nilda LeBlanc of Erath, Hilda Broussard of Abbeville and Joyce Carlin of Erath.

She was preceded in death by husband, Dudley J. Duhon; parents, Sidney Hebert and the former Enite Vincent; and infant twins.
