Leroy Patrick “Lpd” Demarcay
March 3, 1945 — September 25, 2010
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Brent Demarcay, Darin Demarcay, Sr., Darin Demarcay, Jr., Robert Perkins, Ridley Gayneaux, Jr. and Danny Balch. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Andrew, Seth Demarcy, Slaton LaSalle, Andre Vige' and Gussy Breaux.
He is survived by wife, Elwanda Duhon Demarcay; two sons, Darin Demarcay, Sr. and wife Jody of Horn Lake, MS and Brent Demarcay and wife Lynn of Abbeville; one daughter, Carmen Demarcay of Abbeville; mother, Loria Demarcay of Abbeville; one brother, Jimmy Demarcay of Abbeville; one sister, Barbara Demarcay Gayneaux and husband Ridley of Henry; and three grandchildren, Brittany Demarcay, Darin James Demarcay, Jr. and Seth Demarcay. Leroy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Demarcay.
Mr. Leroy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and cook. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family of Mr. Demarcay would like to give special thanks to all of the staff at LTAC of Abbeville and all the nurses at Abbeville General ICU for their support. Also, thank you to Dr. Weston Miller, Dr. Myriam Hutchinson and Dr. Harrington for all you did for our dad.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; the family will reopen on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
