Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Alton Adams Richard, 69, who died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Craig Adams Richard, Brady Lopez, Leland Richard, Darell Richard, Milton Hebert and Reid Broussard.

Mr. Richard loved fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time at his camp and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lea Anna LeBlanc Richard, two children , Craig Adams Richard and Monica Lynn Richard; brothers, Joseph Lawrence Richard and Roy Paul Richard; and a host of nieces and newphews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adonise Richard and Rosita Frederick Richard; and a brother, L.J. Richard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 3:00 p.m.until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. Reopen Saturday, October 2, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
