Hilliard James Broussard

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Fr. Clint Trahan officiating the services. Pallbearers will be William "Billy" Markiewicz, Ruston Broussard, Patrick Broussard, Keith Sellers, Jude Faulk, Russell Stelly, Jared Trahan and Scotty Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Reid Broussard, Haywood Faulk, Thomas Herpin, Marcus Rizzuto and Michael Gary.
He is survived by one son, Reid Jude Broussard and his wife Sonia of Meaux; one daughter, Charlotte Broussard of Meaux; five grandchildren, Shaylyn Brousssard, Ruston Broussard, Saygan Broussard, Adelle Leonard and Hollie Leonard all of Meaux; three brothers, Numa Broussard of Erath, Doyce Broussard of Meaux and Paul Broussard of Meaux; and three sisters, Jeanne Stelly of Meaux; Hilda Mullican of New Jersey and Dorothy Duhon of Kaplan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Griffin Broussard; parents, Minus Paul Broussard and the former Ozite Vincent; one brother, Thomas Broussard and one sister, Zula Trahan.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Shannon, Kathleen, Gloria, Dawn, Lisa, Catha and Hollie of LA Hospice and Palliative Care of Jennings. Also a special thank you to Hill's best friend and caregiver, William "Billy" Markiewicz for his love, devotion, care and comfort. The family will never be able to repay you for all of your unselfish sacrifices you made for Hill, the man you called "Boss".
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, October 9, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
