ABBEVILLE- Funeral
services will be held Friday,
November 10, 2006 at a 1:00
p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial in
St. Theresa Catholic Church
honoring the life of Doyce J.
Soriez, 73, who died November
07, 2006 at Lafayette General
Medical Center.
He will be laid to rest at St.
Paul Cemetery with Reverend
Chester Arceneaux officiating
the services. Pallbearers will be
Crystal Soriez, Jermiah Soriez,
Jude Arceneaux, Andrew
Arceneaux, Lance Arceneaux,
grandchildren and Rickey
Arceneaux. Readers will be
Carolyn Soriez and Cheryl
Arceneaux.
Doyce was a people person
who was always looking to meet
new people. He enjoyed life and
loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of
49 years, Judy L. Parker Soriez;
two sons, Doyce J. Soriez, Jr.
and Kyle P. Soriez; one
daughter, Cheryl Soriez
Arceaneaux; grandchildren, Jude
Arceaneaux, Jermiah Soriez,
Crystal Soriez, Andrew
Arceneaux and Lance
Arceneaux; one great grandson,
Spencer Jace Marceaux; and
daughter-in-law, Carolyn M.
Soriez.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, AIdes Soriez and the
former Albertine Lee;
father-in-law, Edward E. Parker
and mother-in-law, Onedia
Foutain Parker.
He was a veteran of the
United States Navy who served
our country during the Korean
Conflict. He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus and
American Legion.
He was retired relief
captain with Freeport Sulphur
Company. He was a former
employee with the City of
Abbeville, Vermilion Parish
Police Jury, and was a driver for Coach, USA. At his
time of death he was employed
with Charter, Etc. in Lafayette.
The family requests that
visiting hours be observed at
Vincent Funeral Home, 209
South St. Charles, Abbeville,
Thursday, November 9th from
4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday,
November 10th from 9:00 a.m.
until time of services.
