Carl Winston Nunez

February 2, 1937 — October 9, 2010

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Abbeville United Methodist Church honoring the life of Carl Winston Nunez, 73, who died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend John Vining officiating the services. Pallbearers include Rick Nunez, Kurt Mercier, Charles Stewart, Brett Nunez, Matt Nunez and Seth Nunez.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley Hebert Nunez of Abbeville; a son Rick Nunez and wife Geralyn of League City, TX, and their daughters, Lauren and Abby Nunez of League City, TX; a daughter, Charla N. Mercier and husband Kurt of Lafayette, and their children, Charles Stewart of Seattle, WA and Elizabeth Stewart of Indianapolis, IN; and a brother Gerald Nunez of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Nunez; mother, Linda Meaux Nunez; a brother, Dale Aaron Nunez, and a sister-in-law, Ruby Broussard Nunez.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The family will reopen on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
